Did Probst Cross the Line?
By Rich Glanzer
There has been much discussion as to whether or not Jeff Probst had anything to do with Janu quitting Survivor last tribal council. The answer is an obvious yes.
Without Jeff Probst asking tough probing questions, and asking Janu if there was a difference between asking to be voted out, or just quitting, Janu would not have left.
While some may not like the fact that Probst changed the outcome of the Tribal Council, they should realize he was just doing his job. What made Probst so good is he’s not a robotic drone. He’s supposed to ask the tough questions. He’s supposed to make players think. Without those types of questions or comments, how boring would Tribal Council be? As a matter of fact, Probst was obligated to get this out of Janu. Survivor isn’t just about screwing your neighbor, it’s about challenging yourself. And Probst is a master of finding out just how far a Survivor contestant can go. That’s why he’s arguably the best game show host ever.
However the reason there’s even an argument anymore, is how nice a guy Jeffy has become. What a sweetheart! Three people, count em’ three people have asked to be voted out this season! It started with Ashley, then Jeffy, and now Janu. Give me a break! Where is the Jeff Probst that I used to know?? The ol’ and much better Jeff would have gone off on those three, and lambasted them. Now it’s a handshake and a, meet you at the jury. If I was Osten, the most known Survivor quitter, I’d file a lawsuit against Jeffy, demanding that the other quitters got the same treatment as him.
While I’m sure they’ll be many more Survivor Quitters during the shows existence, there probably will not be another stern word from Probst ever again. He’s content on asking tough questions, but not following through on tough results. This is a shame, because when someone quits, they’re taking away a spot from somebody who really wants to be in the game. Stephanie was crying her eyes out, doing everything she could to show her passion. Meanwhile, Jeffy was making sure Janu would not only quit, but feel good about it.
No, Jeff Probst did nothing wrong last Survivor, Jeffy did.
