Poetic Recaps
by Michele Kevany
The Koror tribe of five returned on night thirty three
Gregg being ousted wasn't what Jen expected to see
She had "no idea" and was "completely blown away"
Yet to her tribemates, her feelings she would not say
Ian said it wasn't personal, she said no offense taken
Jen acted cool and casual over Gregg being forsaken
The alliance of Tom, Ian and Katie was now divided
Tom did not trust Katie, it was with Caryn he sided
Along with Tom, Ian wanted Katie in the final three
Barring the women uniting, Ian said "we're money"
The following morning Tom and Caryn had a chat
Gamewise, the two discussed where they were at
Tom and Caryn agreed they would vote Katie out
Whether Ian would do so, there was some doubt
Elsewhere, Jen and Katie talked to Ian about Tom
His departure is what each one's game hinged upon
Ian wavered and Jen asked him "are you kidding?"
No doubt in a final two spot Tom would be sitting
Ian replied he did not like going back on his word
He said a vote to oust Caryn is what he perferred
Meanwhile, Tom and Caryn's exchange progressed
Tom told Caryn that Katie will likely make a request
He said he knew that Caryn may join a female division
Adding all things considered, it would be her decision
To the final three Tom and Ian said Caryn they'd bring
She wondered if they'd told Katie the very same thing
Caryn wan't sure on which road the truth was paved
She could land in the finals, or she just may be played
Tom and Ian fetched the treemail, each read the clue
Reward will grant the winner an amazing Paluan view
A paddle will help them, or they might be up a creek
"Passion and precision" could gain the prize they seek
Tom stressed to Ian if the winner is allowed one guest
He need choose a woman, as separation would be best
They discussed which teammate would be the lucky lady
Tom pushed for Caryn to go, while Ian pushed for Katie
Omitting Caryn, Tom felt, would be a risky thing to do
They'd lose her and she'd be "a loose canon with two"
Tom asked Ian how in Katie her trust could be placed
"After she flipped", Tom knew she could be two-faced
He asked Ian how confident was his belief in his friend
Ian said he was certain Katie was with them to the end
Jeff called in the tribe and showed all what one will get
They were stunned to see a shiny new red Corvette
To win the car, an assortment of bags will be sought
They each had a box where the bags will be brought
Across a lagoon to five pontoons they'll navigate a raft
They'll reach the bags atop a traditional Palauan craft
With just one bag in tow, they'll head back to the shore
After placing it in their box, they'll head back for more
Once five bags are retrieved, their contents they'll need
Remembering geography class may help them succeed
Each of the bags had a different "mile marker" inside
They mark distances from Palau to cities counting five
New York, Tokyo, Sydney, Manila and London too
Placing the correct marker with each is what they'll do
When finished, if the distance from each city is right
They can drive off to a Palauan mansion for the night
There the winner will enjoy the "great taste's of home"
When they get "back to the states", the car they'll own
Jeff raised his right arm and onto a raft they each ran
They were quickly in the water with a paddle in hand
Ian and Tom took the lead as they raced for a post
Caryn's speed however, was little more than a coast
Soon each man had two bags, each woman had one
The men retrieved a third bag and were half way done
Ian nosed out Tom and was first in placing bag three
Jen now had two, it was one bag for Caryn and Katie
Ian and Tom returned number four, with Ian in the lead
Jen had three, Katie two, only one had Caryn retrieved
After untying his fifth bag, Ian paddled back to shore
Tom fell behind after missing his toss of number four
Once Ian docked his raft he quickly emptied each bag
Under each city he hung the correct mile marker tag
The closest to Palau are Manila, Tokyo and Sydney
Then London and New York, the most distant city
Ian had won the last and best Reward Challange yet
He bent forward and kissed the hood of the Corvette
Jeff handed him the keys and said he'd go for a ride
He asked Ian to choose someone to cruise by his side
Much to Katie's dismay, Ian selected Tom for the trip
This chioce, they both knew, may cause Katie to flip
Tom smiled as he took a seat in Ian's convertible
For Katie, Ian's decision was painfully indiscernible
The two men drove along an amazing jungle path
While the women headed home and did alittle math
At the mansion, while enjoying their view of Palau
They discussed keeping Katie on board somehow
After her action's, her word Tom was wary to buy
Ian remained convinced on her word they could rely
They enjoyed a barbeque high above a Palauan shore
Ian remarked to Tom he has never owned a car before
Back at camp, Caryn asked Katie what was Ian's deal
Katie cited a promise and how Ian had made her feel
She was certain that Ian would have brought her along
Katie then asked Caryn what her deal was with Tom
Caryn said she had no deal, unlike Katie had herself
To Jen, Katie now looked like the player most stealth
Though wary of one another, they had a game to play
The three agreed to form an alliance to help each stay
Katie said the men "were dumb" to leave them alone
Barring Immunity, Tom is the man they'll dethrone
On day thirty five, Tom and Ian hiked back to Koror
Caryn cut them off as they headed down the shore
She said Katie and Jen were favoring a female bond
Caryn asked Ian if to her he was intending to hold on
She worried that to Katie he had made another pledge
Ian fell quiet and Caryn was miffed that he had hedged
Tom asked her what occured while they were away
Pointing out Ian's silence, she had nothing to say
Caryn turned heel, swiftly heading down the beach
Tom told Ian he had just put the money out of reach
Ian reassured Tom that he and Katie were still tight
Tom said "oh my God..." and hoped Ian was right
Back at camp, Ian told Katie he would like to talk
Katie, still upset, said with him she'd take no walk
Ian tried again later, finally a sulking Katie relented
She said that breaking his word she highly resented
He was sorry, telling Katie he'd been a "scatterbrain"
She lost a Reward, but he had her back just the same
Katie said it was hard to believe his words were true
Ian told her he'd "step out" if Katie wished him to
This sacrifice must have given Katie's heart a tug
Saying she'd never ask that, she gave him a hug
It was crunch time for the tribe on day thirty six
Tom intended to remedy that which needed a fix
He spoke with Caryn while treemail they retrieved
It was apparent she would not be granting a reprieve
Beyond saying Katie was skilled at acting sincere
Caryn told Tom nothing of which he wanted to hear
He needed to know if Katie had orchestrated a plan
As it was, Katie had two factions at her command
Tom realized Caryn had chosen another road to take
While she wondered if her new pack was a mistake
They returned to camp and the treemail was read
A Tribal Council loomed, which a few will dread
For their next challenge, memory will play a part
Tom had a talk with Katie before it would start
He employed tough tactics to keep Katie in line
Were she to vote off a man it will soon be her time
If the remaining man then scores an Immunity win
Her "payback for flipping" would do her chances in
Tom made certain the writing on the wall was seen
Feeling bullied, Katie felt that he was "being mean"
Later on, Tom said to Ian that "Katie is playing you"
He was certain to her word Katie wouldn't stay true
Ian considered Tom's tactics to be overly aggressive
Tom believed he needed to be sternly expressive
Their "final three" plans Katie was poised to spoil
He said "it's the only thing that will keep her loyal"
Ian had felt getting to the final four would be easy
He now realized "this is 'Survivor', not parcheesi"
Koror met Jeff, who said if their memory was poor
They may be on the jury instead of in the final four
Jeff said the challenge will test them in two ways
Both physically and mentally after thirty six days
It was designed to determine what they have left
With Immunity "on the line", they listened to Jeff
They will need to master three obstacles in a row
At the start, over a wobbly bridge they must go
Next, a series of floating pontoons they will face
A rope bridge will be the last obstacle in the race
Once across, a "Memory Puzzle" will await each
Good recall could help put Immunity within reach
The puzzle's were made up of fifteen distinct tiles
They beheld images in nautical and military styles
Their objective is to duplicate the puzzle as shown
They'll return over the gauntlet to a grid of their own
Each survivor took their randomly determined spot
The Immunity Challenge was now ready to be fought
Ian, Tom and Jen aptly maneuvered their way across
Katie and Caryn fell, and the first obstacle was a loss
After a peek, over the gauntlet Ian and Tom were aloft
Ian reached his grid first, however Tom nearly fell off
With his top row placed, Tom returned for another look
Jen headed back to her grid after a long study she took
Once back at her grid Jen put her entire puzzle together
Caryn and Katie arrived to see what memory may tether
Tom, Ian and Jen returned after a second study session
While Katie and Caryn continued their slow progression
After his third attempt at arranging, Ian called out to Jeff
He was incorrect, so he returned in a manner most deft
Tom gave out a shout to Jeff, though he too was wrong
Heading back, again the wobbly bridge he slipped upon
After returning and rearranging, Ian again called his out
Jeff said it was incorrect, a victory wasn't yet his to tout
The women were busy duplicating what they retained
Tom again called out to Jeff, still no win was gained
Ian's third call yet again was an incorrect recollection
After Tom's third call, Jeff made one last inspection
Memory had served him, as his placement was right
Now only Tom would be safe from the vote that night
Back at camp, Tom said his Immunity had been dire
He knew Ian may go if the women chose to conspire
Tom wanted to keep him, because without Ian there
One immunity loss and he'll have his own jury chair
Meanwhile, Katie and Ian sat for a chat by the beach
Ian knew the power to save him was within her reach
Katie said she would not make a promise to anyone
Tribal Council drew near with the setting of the sun
Caryn commented that Katie was "holding the cards"
She could give Ian or the women her parting regards
A subdued Koror paddled away for their Tribal date
For one survivor, the final four they will not make
They arrived, took a seat and the jury entered in
After Gregg took his place he gave Jennifer a grin
Jeff mentioned the last reward Challenge to Katie
Saying Ian taking Tom made her an unhappy lady
Katie answered it had been her "darkest day" so far
She said it was not about a steak or riding in a car
It was how Ian's broken promise had made her feel
Not knowing who to trust was making her head reel
Jeff asked Ian if he had anticipated Katie's response
Ian said he later regretted his cavalier nonchalance
Jeff remarked to Caryn that it must be good to see
That within the five, two were engaged in calamity
Caryn said for her, the tiff had been a "revelation"
She added it had become a source of aggrevation
Caryn said that Ian had approached her with a plot
The minute Gregg, Jen and Katie boarded a yacht
Ian had wanted Tom and her to take the three out
To learn Ian had a deal with Katie had her in doubt
Caryn felt that Tom and Ian were running the game
She felt "had" and on the men she placed blame
Jeff told her she had put "four people on their heels"
Caryn said she'd "had it" and was sick of the deals
Ian wasn't willing to bear the brunt of caryn's heat
He said she was every bit a part of Gregg's defeat
Jeff asked Tom fro his take on Caryn and Ian's bout
He said, per Caryn, Gregg and Katie wanted him out
"Tom, you're such a liar" was Caryn's shocked reply
He continued, saying taking out Gregg was do or die
The pecking order had him out at five, Ian out at four
So they needed to banish Gregg from Koror's shore
Caryn said Ian felt in Katie's trust he could not rely
That's why he waited to inform her of the planned tie
Ian said he saw no benefit to him for having waited
Katie told Ian a choice she may have contemplated
Jeff asked Katie on what her vote would be based
Katie had no answer about the decision she faced
Jeff asked Tom if reassigning Immunity was remote
Tom nodded "yes", and Jeff said "it is time to vote"
In her new alliance, this player had hoped to fare in
The torch that Jeff snuffed belonged to Caryn
