Poetic Recaps
by Michele Kevany
At their new camp Koror was assessing their plight
The tribe was miserable on this cold, rainy night
After capsizing and losing fire the mood was blue
Most felt their move was the wrong thing to do
An overall bad decision, nobody's back got any pats
Especially after a visit from three rather jumpy rats
Janu was spooked by their guest's pitter-patter
For her it was a question of mind over matter
Caryn told Tom she felt he had spoken for all
He intercepted a pass and ran with the ball
Tom stayed calm while putting up his defenses
He said he had acted upon a tribal consensus
Katie was annoyed with Caryn's insistence on blame
She accepted their fate and Caryn need do the same
On day four Ulong was feeling less stressed
Now that Jolanda's torch had been laid to rest
Stephanie believed she and her tribe could relax
Though Angie felt her head was close to the ax
James said as American's they will have democracy
Yet in "Survivor" there is always room for hypocrisy
Ulong read the treemail which described a battle
Their opponent's nerves a few will attempt to rattle
They felt their tribe was strong though smaller in size
Ulong met up with Koror to compete for the prize
Jeff informed the survivors what this Reward will bring
Fins, a mask and snorkel, and a Hawaiian fishing sling
If Ulong wins there is one more item they'll acquire
Some much needed flint so their tribe can make fire
A Balance Obstacle Course they will need to master
Ten flags will be placed by the tribe that is faster
One swing on a rope and they'll be across a trench
The rolling drum will guarantee someone a drench
Walk a balance beam and find two bridges to cross
If at any point they fall off their entire run is a loss
One bridge was wobbly and the other made of rope
Walk each carefully and try not to look like a dope
At the end of the gauntlet were the necessary flags
Reaching them meant avoiding swinging sandbags
Two from each tribe will play "pass" interference
They will try to disrupt their opponent's clearance
Koror chose Gregg and Tom to be their sandbaggers
Ulong's Jeff and Ibrehem will be their tribes taggers
The race quickly became a wet and wild free for all
Coby had to start over and James took a hard fall
Bobby Jon became incensed over his failed run
Katie didn't find swinging over a trench too fun
She couldn't land her swing and put Ulong ahead
Perhaps Koror should have sat her out instead
Angie wanted to show her tribe she was strong
And she did so by securing a victory for Ulong
Capturing flag after flag she commanded the race
Her newfound stature put a smile on her face
Ulong returned home and had a fire quickly burning
The new gear may keep their stomach's from churning
Bobby Jon and Jeff fished a giant clam from the sea
Add some seaweed and that's what dinner would be
They placed second but Koror wasn't counting the cost
Each was preoccupied by something else they had lost
Five tribemates began a search from aboard their canoe
Finding fire was a task put to Gregg, Tom, Ian, Jen and Janu
The beautiful clear blue water gave Ian a shining glint
He was overjoyed when he caught sight of their flint
These five had succeeded in retrieving the fire
Now Koror's spirits could not have been higher
Ian expressed his elation in a most eloquent way
They didn't win the challenge but they "won the day"
Around a campfire Ulong was enjoying clam soup
Seven out of eight felt they had a happy troop
But Ashlee secluded herself and chose not to sit
The others got the impression she wanted to quit
Jeff and Kim said goodnight and left together
Cuddling helps two stay warm in cold weather
Next day's treemail had them learning morse code
A cryptic rhyme on a mess kit was all it forebode
The survivors studied and tested each other's recall
Keen memory will keep one tribe from taking a fall
Koror set out for the next challenge, as did Ulong
When this day is over another player will be gone
From a floating pontoon the tribemates will dive
But not before all of their members have arrived
A barrel strung with rope was resting ten feet below
It attached to a foot locker with mess kits to bestow
They needed to pull the locker ashore from the deep
It's progression will release a marker every ten feet
Though Koror began slow they became real go-getters
After forty feet a "GO" marker gave them eight letters
The opened their locker first and up popped the kits
Decoding the alphabet symbols will rely on their wits
Ulong was diving and pulling in the water all alone
As Koror spelled IMMUNITY and took the idol home
Back at camp the Ulong tribe was equally divided
Ashlee and Kim each had three with whom they sided
Stephanie and James wanted to say goodbye to Kim
She did nothing in the challenge past the initial swim
Bobby Jon and Jeff felt that Ashlee was their liability
She wasn't eating and they needed strength and agility
They left for their second Tribal Council in a row
A split may leave each of them vulnerable to go
It was not the tie some were expecting it to be
The torch that Jeff snuffed belonged to Ashlee
