Poetic Recaps
by Michele Kevany
Bobby Jon and Stephanie returned to camp Ulong
They were the last of nine, the other seven now gone
Stephanie thanked Bobby Jon for keeping his word
She thought at Tribal twice her name would be heard
Bobby kept Steph because he felt she had done better
Steph wants to play and is grateful Bobby has let her
The following day at Koror rats were setting up camp
Katie yelled "go away!" to a happy-go-lucky scamp
Tom said the rats no longer viewed them as a threat
Coby said a messy camp is what they should regret
The rats came to partake of the pre-sliced coconuts
Along with a shark's head as well as it's rotting guts
Coby took it upon himself to dispose of their litter
The poor work ethics of a few had him feeling bitter
He does "everything", boils water and gathers wood
Coby felt at the least Katie, Jen and Janu also should
Into their daily chores a bit more effort could be put
Instead they let the men wait on them hand and foot
The dramatically lopsided tribes met up once more
This Reward Challenge had a Palauan treat in store
They'll be partaking of a local delicacy named Balute
Which are little ducklings who will never give a hoot
Too late for a plate although too early for the sea
These semi-incubated eggs were not feather free
In four rounds they'll alternate two for the snacking
They will eat the ducks who will never be quacking
The number of Balut will correspond with the round
This time intestinal fortitude is the edge to be found
The prize is fiftyfive gallons of fresh water in a drum
There is an added bonus that will refresh everyone
Along with the water they'll win cleansing supplies
To remedy a fact that has become hard to disguise
Jeff suggested they take a shower along with a drink
Perhaps not figuratively, but quite literally they stink
Jeff asked Koror to name the players who will munch
Tom and Ian allowed the others to gladly skip lunch
Steph and Tom led off with an egg a piece to down
Neither ducked out and it was on to the next round
Bobby Jon and Ian came forward and each ate two
They both found it to be a fairly easy thing to do
In the third round Tom thought he'd heard a chirp
Yet at three eggs each that may have been a burp
The fourth round was left to Bobby Jon and Ian
These two had eight ugly ducklings between them
Bite after bite they each tallied the necessary score
Not one loathed this treat they'd never eaten before
The Balute's unusual appearance apparently belied
At the end of four rounds the two tribes were tied
Jeff said they would move on to a tie-breaker duel
He had them send forth their best Balute eating fool
Ulong chose Bobby Jon while Koror elected Tom
Jeff placed two plates with five eggs nestled upon
For the first to get them down a win will be incurred
Bobby Jon and Tom grabbed a partially gestated bird
After much chewing the Reward Challenge was won
Tom took the prize after showing Jeff a clean tongue
Back at camp the Koror tribe was enjoying their cache
Scented soap and a mouthwash named "citrus splash"
Shampoo and toothpaste with tooth brushes to boot
Jen couldn't wait to take a shower with the new loot
Tom nixed the showers, they were in "survival mode"
Fiftyfive gallons of fresh water will lighten their lode
He didn't think a drop should be wasted on a shower
Like a guard dog he stood beneath their water tower
Jen was alone in speaking up so she let it go instead
Though she still wanted water pouring over her head
Tom disliked asserting himself but felt it was needed
Jen felt Tom's determination may be poorly heeded
At Ulong the tribe yet again was left out in the cold
Bobby Jon said losing to Tom had gotten "real old"
Steph was glad to see Bobby upset by their defeat
He takes losses philosophically and is always upbeat
Perhaps if Bobby Jon can get good and boiling mad
They can show Koror a different kind of Ulong bad
Koror's Katie said it was "glorious" to be undefeated
Though the "happy Koror days" will soon be depleted
Tom and Ian were discussing Jen and Gregg's alliance
Separating them will take more than their compliance
Katie's a cohort of Ian and Tom's, along with one more
If Steph lands on Koror's shore she'll be number four
Before the tribes had been chosen back on day two
They formed a unit and plan on seeing it through
Tom and Ian want the rest to never have a guess
Ian said "we're on the verge of utter ridiculousness"
At Ulong, Steph said she was living with a caveman
Bobby was working off rage with his best "bam-bam"
He scared her a little, she did not want to cause a rift
So she calmly mentioned he could use a handkerchief
Stephanie felt she was nearing the end of her rope
She felt frustrated but said she "won't give up hope"
Bobby and Steph labored to put their canoe to sea
As they sailed off Bobby said "Lord have mercy"
Ulong's spirits were looking up on day twentyone
Eating a fish Bobby caught was how it had begun
They both felt strong and able for an Immunity fight
Stephanie felt the time for an Ulong win was right
It may be the last treemail fetched for one of the pair
Stephanie and Bobby Jon read their poem with care
They'll want to think and not sink while taking a swim
Their eighth Immunity Challenge was ready to begin
For the losing tribe one will say goodbye to the rest
Jeff met the two tribes and explained their next test
They will swim to pontoons wafting gently offshore
To retrieve their puzzle pieces in bags counting four
These bags have been attached to rope down below
They'll need to free each bag and return with it in tow
After four bags are collected the pieces need assembly
Once together a "word scramble puzzle" they will see
Alongside their puzzle will be words they'll need to find
Once circled take the intersecting letters found on a line
When arranged the letters will spell a three word phrase
Those first to solve the puzzle will gain three more days
Jeff asked Koror which two will compete against Ulong
They believed Gregg and Coby would not get it wrong
The first two in the water were Stephanie and Gregg
Gregg made it back first but it was a very close leg
Bobby Jon's swim against Coby put Ulong ahead
After Steph and Gregg's rematch her tribe still led
Bobby Jon and Coby brought in their teams last bag
Koror assembled their pieces while Ulong would lag
By the time Steph and Bobby got their puzzle together
Gregg and Coby had found nearly all of twelve letters
They found the three word phrase "Victory At Sea"
Koror's eighth Immunity win was "Survivor" history
Jeff directed his words to the near extinct Ulong tribe
After that night's Tribal Council only one will survive
Since Bobby Jon and Steph cannot vote for each other
An Immunity will be won after they take on one another
A challenge at Tribal Council will decide who will play
The other will see an end to their twenty one day stay
At Koror the happy tribe seemed to have not a worry
Coby informed the others "we've all made the jury"
Being part of a winning team made Coby feel good
It was in contrast to experiences from his childhood
At Ulong Steph felt going out now would hurt her pride
Bobby Jon told her "nothing has worked for this tribe"
Stephanie wondered how it would be for the one left alone
They'd have to make fire, get water and fish on their own
For this Immunity Steph said she'll fight hard to play on
Her tribemate's mental state was now "team Bobby Jon"
They arrived at Tribal Council and Jeff mentioned the sight
It was strange seeing a "final two" on this twenty first night
Jeff asked how it felt being the last two players from Ulong
They complimented each other saying the other was strong
Stephanie said who ever stays will have a victory earned
Jeff asked about survivor skills and what they've learned
Bobby Jon said it was fire they were in need of most
They had drinking water to boil and coconut to roast
Steph agreed without fire your game will be through
She said for her starting one was a hard thing to do
Jeff asked Bobby Jon if he was confident with a flame
He said he could start one and maintain it just the same
Jeff then proceeded with the Tribal business at hand
One of them will have three more days in the sand
The challenge they faced for this Immunity most dire?
Which of the two will be first to set their torch on fire
They'll have fire making materials to aid the ignition
Just below their torch should be the flame's position
Jeff said "go" and the work quickly got under way
They soon had fire in their bid to see another day
Stephanie would fan her flames till her last breath
She lit her torch first making her the last Ulong left
Bobby Jon was asked to bring forward his torch
Unfortunately his fire had barely made a scorch
Jeff told him on this night the tribe had not spoken
It was that final fire that Bobby had trouble stokin'
Stephanie will be the lone survivor at camp Ulong
The torch that Jeff snuffed belonged to Bobby Jon
